Al Isra Wal Miraj Stacking Cups FREE Printable
“Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al- Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.” (Quran 17:1)
On the 27th of Rajab, it is believed that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), took a miraculous night journey. The Isra Wal Miraj refers to the two part journey. In the first part the angel Jibrail took the Prophet, on a Buraq, from Al Masjid Al Haram in Mecca to Al Masjid Al Aqsa in Jerusalem. In the second part of the journey it is believed that The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ascended to the heavens where he met several other great Prophets.
I introduced this topic by first talking about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) with our book ‘The Footsteps of Muhammad (PBUH)’ Through this book and others in The Prophet Series my children have started to develop a deeper connection to their Prophets. I then recounted the story of Isra Wal Miraj in a playful way using this activity as a tool to enhance their learning. This miraculous story was exciting for both my 5.5 and 3.5 year old who have enjoyed sharing the story with grandparents and other family members. InshAllah through the continued remembrance and recounting of these stories accompanied with activities, it will help form a strong foundation for their future.
If you’re looking for a fun, easy way to introduce the Isra Wal Miraj to your child, then this free printable is a great visual resource to get you talking about the various steps involved during the night journey taken by Prophet Muhammad.
